Automated Face Recognition Attendance System (AFRAS)
AFRAS is an AI-powered attendance management system that eliminates manual roll calls in academic institutions. It uses CCTV cameras to automatically detect and recognize students' faces in real-time, records period-wise attendance (up to 6 periods daily), and provides secure web dashboards for HODs and students. Features include manual attendance correction, student self-registration with live webcam capture, automated working day detection, and attendance eligibility classification (Eligible/Condonation/Detained).

Captures live CCTV/webcam feeds using HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradients) model. Detects and matches faces against precomputed encodings. Dynamically updates encodings for new students. Automatic attendance marking upon recognition.
Intuitive Web Application
Flask-based platform with secure role-based access control. HOD Dashboard: view, filter, and manually edit attendance records. Student Dashboard: view attendance percentage and period-wise history. Supports password recovery via DOB verification.
